Follows a group of inmates at a prison no one has ever escaped from as they escape from it.
A huge part of what made this enjoyable was that it was funny, didn’t require much thought and looked good. But I watched Yuri on Ice not even a week ago. It’s an anime that’s pretty much just about gay figure skaters. Nanbaka was more colourful and sparkly than that. A show about (straight?) prisoners was more gay looking than a show about gay figure skaters.
As for the story… it looks like it has potential? I want to know what’s going to happen. Especially with a character called Elf. I want to find out if I’m right about him… But anyway… for the most part, whenever it tries to get serious, It only lasts for a short time before they toss in a joke. It seems to try harder for the background stories, but you don’t get much except for the Ninja guy and the guy with the blindfold. You don’t get much about the backgrounds for the main characters.
Anyway, I heard there’s going to be a second season, so I’ll watch that. This was funny, at the very least, so I wouldn’t consider it a waste of time. I’m not sure if I’d actually recommend it though.
