A Christmas Carol (2009) animated, movie – USA

christmas carol. 2009
drama, family, fantasy
Director Robert Zemeckis
Writers Charles Dickens, Robert Zemeckis
Voices Jim Carrey, Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Robin Wright

Scrooge is visited by the spirits of Christmas past, present and yet to come.

Not much can be said of the story itself. Not much was changed from how it usually is.

The art is iffy though. I like how it looks in stills but it’s awkward when the move. It’s like they’re trying to make it look real but at the same time, look animated. The way characters move is just odd. Character design, when they aren’t moving, looks good though.

The voices are ok. Scrooge got very Jim Carrey. I guess you can’t expect it not to go that way… but it just doesn’t seem to suit Scrooge, even if he did change.

So… I guess it’s ok. A couple parts were creepy funny. But I’d be hesitant to recommend it. Especially with how many versions there are.
