Sungkyunkwan Scandal (2010) live action, drama – South Korea

174. Sungkyunkwan Scandal
comedy, historical, romance

Kim Yoon Hee is a young girl that, due to the death of her father at a young age and a sick brother, must pretend to be a boy, by using her brothers name, Yoon Shik, in order to work and earn money. After being tricked, she gets accepted to Sungkyunkwan, a school where women are not allowed to go, and being found out could lead to not only her, but her family being put to death. There, she learns, grows and becomes close to Lee Sun Joon and Moon Jae Shin, the former being the cause of her being accepted to Sungkyunkwan and the latter someone that helped her out before, both of which are a part of warring political factions that become her roommates, and Goo Yong Ha, an old friend of Jae Shin.

The first couple of episodes were a little slow, but after 2 or 3, it’s worth it. Although I didn’t much care for the ending. I didn’t get any of the couples I wanted. The actors were good, looked good together, seemed to get along well together. The growth of the characters made sense. They didn’t grow and mature too fast or too slowly.

Well, I say watch it. If you like historical stuff.
