George and the Christmas Star (1985) animated, movie – USA

sci fi
director/writer: Gerald Pottertonvoices: George Geertsen, Dave Broadfoot, Lynne Kolber, John Morgan

George lives alone with his cat and while decorating his Christmas tree, he decides the topper isn’t right. So, he builds a spaceship to go get a star. By the end, he gets something even better.

It was cute and had an okay moral. I’m iffy on it though. I’m not a big fan of the art and most of it is narrated. It also seems like it’s made for kids, but I’ve never known a kid that likes that much narration.

I probably won’t watch it again unless I have kids and try it with them. It was okay one time, but I don’t think it’s something worth watching more than once. But at about 20 minutes, it’s not like you’re out much.
