Ash is invited by a Dr Yung to take part in/see a demonstration of a new type of battle using mirage pokemon. When he, Brock, Max and May show up, they find Misty and Dr Oak were invited as well. During the battle/demonstration, the mirages go haywire and kidnap Dr Yung. After this, someone calling himself “The Mirage Master” shows up, and the gang must defeat him with the help of Mew.
First off, I’ll be honest. I wasn’t paying much attention. I love pokemon, but it’s normally used as background noise while I’m doing something else since every episode is pretty much the same, just in a different place with the odd new person and pokemon. I also prefer the specials where the humans are pretty much nonexistent. Like the adults in the Peanuts. This was pretty much like a usual episode. Just a little longer and slightly more interesting since it was a different “villain.” Although I do love Team Rocket, especially James, more than any of the other characters.
But anyway, although it has nothing to do with the main story line and I doubt anything that happened will be mentioned again, it’s still worth watching if you’re watching Pokemon anyway.
